New Location For Brattleboro’s Skatepark!

**Skatepark Location Update**

BASIC has been given a new location for the construction of Brattleboro’s 4,900 square foot skatepark. It will be located on the hill of Memorial Park, on the inside of the last turn when driving up to the Kiwanis Shelter. A fenced in 8,000 square foot dog park will be located along the opposite side of the road at this same turn. Parking for 6-8 vehicles will be included in the design.

BASIC will work closely with Brattleboro Snow Sports to minimize any intrusion on the skiing and sliding hill. We will also work closely with the town, the town’s insurance carrier and property abutters to insure a safe and beautiful park for all to enjoy.

This new location has been approved by the Selectboard as well as the Design Review Board (DRB). An amendment of the existing Act 250 Permit is required, so BASIC is now working with the State of Vermont to meet their requirements. Once the permit is amended, BASIC will move forward with the design process.

This skatepark is not a town-funded project. It is being funded strictly through funds raised by the committed volunteers of BASIC. Your physical and monetary support is crucial at this time. Our youth need a free, safe park where they can exercise, socialize, express themselves and gain self-esteem. Please show your support and commitment to our future generation by donating today.
